CODE OF CONDUCT

 

SUPERVISION all students and uninsured graduates MUST obtain authorisation from the supervising homœopath in their team before administering a prescription. A supervisor must be an experienced and insured homœopath.

RECORD KEEPING a record book is kept and must be completed whenever a remedy is prescribed or a referral made. Essential details - date, time, full name, brief outline of condition treated, remedy prescribed, potency, dosage, whether or not a referral was made and to whom and your name. These details should also be written on the case notes.

CONFIDENTIALTY a patient's right to confidentiality should be respected at all times.

CLINICAL CARE you should be able to identify those occasions when a patient’s condition is likely to receive greater benefit from an other form of treatment such as serious injuries and chronic conditions.

MANAGEMENT OF CASES you should, where possible, make a referral to a homoeoapth in the client’s locality and always suggest that if the prescribed remedy has not been effective the patient return for further consultation

SEXUAL CONDUCT sexual activity with a patient in your care or a student under your tutelage should not be undertaken.

TIME KEEPING it is essential that you are on time for all shifts.

UNIFORM the THC’s t-shirts and sweatshirts are to be worn at all times whilst you are on duty but must be removed as soon as you finish your shift.

SMOKING, DRUGS AND ALCOHOL smoking of any description is strictly forbidden in and around the clinic and pharmacy. Volunteers must ensure that they are fit for work whenever they are on duty.

PROMOTION OF THE PROFESSION all volunteers are reminded that we are aiming to promote the profession and not just ourselves.
